1. Scared shitless.

Last night a couple of mates and i went draining. We spent a few hours down there doing some light painting and exploring parts of the drain that we had net seen before. This drain is one of the best in Melbourne Australia. it’s got old red bricks covering the tunnels it has blue stone on the floor and so many side tunnels that you can get lost in if you don’t know the way around or if you have no sense if direction.

As we were leaving for the night because we could see a storm coming in slowly on the radar I remember that a guy told me there was a waterfall down one of the side tunnels that we had not been in. We say “fuck it.” the storm wasn’t moving fast. it was about 200Kms away.

We decide to head down to see the waterfall. After a min of walking the tunnel begins to decline. t wasn’t a steep decline but a big enough decline to know that we are going deep underground. we continue walking for 5 or so minutes and deeper into the depths of Melbourne underground drains. As we were walking we noticed that the graffiti was becoming less and less frequent, almost no graffiti after 5 minuets. At this point in time we also realise that there is no way way of holding or climbing anything just in case the storm hits. it was one big circular drain with what appeared to have no end to it (other than a waterfall)  certain death would have been the outcome if a storm hit.

I get a bit nervous and so does one of my mates. He calls it quits and walks back.

It’s just the two of us left walking in this declining drain with a sound of a waterfall becoming louder and louder. I almost call it quits and am ready to turn back. i don’t though because my mate says that I’ll regret it after a minute we reach the waterfall.

it was loud and it emptied into a massive room with a drain attached to the bottom. we stay there for a little looking around and taking in the beauty of it. The waterfall want huge. it could have been about 15meters tall. We stay for a minute and then head back just in case the storm was on close to us. We got out and it was no where near us. hahaha.
